Old Town Field Trip



Mommy got to play hookie from school on Wednesday to go on a field trip to Old Town with Jackson and his third grade class.  It was so much fun to hear about all the interesting facts about life in San Diego such a long time ago!!!



Our tour guide was so funny!  He had us all laughing our heads off... it sure made for a fun day of history!


Hakka Lakka Akka... that was what the kids yelled out and it meant, "What's Up?" in Kumeyaay!





Jackson got chosen to play the part of the son of a very rich man in town... his name was Jose!


On into the house of the first sheriff in San Diego!












At the end of the field trip... Mr. Light told scary stories from the Whaley House!!  On the 9th step you smell bacon and eggs and then you feel a rope around you neck because the house was built right on top of the land where the gallows once stood!!! AAAAHHHHH!

My baby turns 9!!!

I cannot believe it!  NINE YEARS OLD!!!  It seems like yesterday that we brought little Jackson home from the hospital!  He is growing up way too fast!  It really does just fly by.  We are so proud of the person Jackson is and how sensitive, kind and caring he is!  This year, Jackson is really into army and anything resembling a gun... so of course his party had a military theme.  We hired a company to come to the house to do laser tag and it was blast! First Day of 6th and 9th Grades!

Wow!  I cannot believe it... a 6th grader and a Freshman in High School!  What!?! Yes... that is a boot cast... broke my foot just in time for school!  UGH! Charlie with his teacher...Mrs. Villar!     Not as many pix of Jackson because, well... who wants their mom tagging along to take pix with their teachers!  Not a great shot...   was having an ugly cry moment!
