The Elkinton Four

Mommy got to play hookie from school on Wednesday to go on a field trip to Old Town with Jackson and his third grade class.  It was so much fun to hear about all the interesting facts about life in San Diego such a long time ago!!! Our tour guide was so funny!  He had us all laughing our heads off... it sure made for a fun day of history! Hakka Lakka Akka... that was what the kids yelled out and it meant, "What's Up?" in Kumeyaay! Jackson got chosen to play the part of the son of a very rich man in town... his name was Jose! On into the house of the first sheriff in San Diego! At the end of the field trip... Mr. Light told scary stories from the Whaley House!!  On the 9th step you smell bacon and eggs and then you feel a rope around you neck because the house was built right on top of the land where the gallows once stood!!! AAAAHHHHH!  

Well... Easter came and went so fast this year... but we did have some fun Easter activities... take a look... First... we dyed eggs the week of Easter... and yes... it was a jammie day and no we didn't do our hair for pix... we were on vacation... I guess my friend, Jill is rubbing off on me when it comes to relaxing on vacation! yes... those are Christmas jammies... they are cozy.. what??? Proud of the finished product!! Then came Easter morning... the boys crawled in bed with us and the picture of those excited faces to go see what the Easter Bunny had brought was just priceless!!! Then it was out to the kitchen where there was a note from the Easter Bunny that said to follow the tracks.. So the boys took off following the tracks... Then reading the clues to find where to look next... The last clue led the boys under the dining room table to find their baskets... and boy were they excited!
