Fall Break in Arizona - 2013

We headed out to see our dear friends in Chandler, Arizona for a visit during Fall Break from school. We were welcomed warmly by the Barkers as if we were part of the family.  The best part is not how great of friends we are with Corrine and Shad, but how great our two kids get along with theirs!
This welcomed us in the kitchen!


X-Box Dance Party!!!

Corrine was so patient with Buggy and taught him to play "Jingle Bells"... I can't wait for Christmas now... we are getting him lessons!!!

The boys went out walking the dog and found a small grasshopper... so naturally Corrine put it in the jar that had a scorpion in it from a capture the night before.  The kids waited and waited for a big fight to ensue... however, I think the lack of oxygen to the poor scorpion made him an unworthy opponent!


 The weather was still hot enough for swimming and all the kids (dad's included) did loads of swimming in their AMAZING pool!

 
 
It is official... Charlie is officially over his fear of dogs... he made two new great friends...

 No... that does not mean we are getting a dog... well, not right away anyway!

The biggest event for the boys was the gun show... Shad (U.S. Marshall) showed all of  his stuff, from night vision, special headphones that let you hear your team mates whisper to you from 50 yards away, bullet proof vest, shackles, handcuffs and of course all his guns!


 
Next day... more swimming!!!
 
 
We went to a great place called Flip Side!  It was the best place ever!  Bumper cars, Laser tag, bowling, video games and of course an ice-cream parlor!  Jack, Charlie, Ellie and Nolan had a ball!


 
 
The next day... it was art time!  Little Picassos!





 
Then it was off for another swim!


Great artist, great swimming and wonderful life long friendships!

My baby turns 9!!!

I cannot believe it!  NINE YEARS OLD!!!  It seems like yesterday that we brought little Jackson home from the hospital!  He is growing up way too fast!  It really does just fly by.  We are so proud of the person Jackson is and how sensitive, kind and caring he is!  This year, Jackson is really into army and anything resembling a gun... so of course his party had a military theme.  We hired a company to come to the house to do laser tag and it was blast! First Day of 6th and 9th Grades!

Wow!  I cannot believe it... a 6th grader and a Freshman in High School!  What!?! Yes... that is a boot cast... broke my foot just in time for school!  UGH! Charlie with his teacher...Mrs. Villar!     Not as many pix of Jackson because, well... who wants their mom tagging along to take pix with their teachers!  Not a great shot...   was having an ugly cry moment!
